What happens if you decide to adopt a dog:

Once you have seen a dog that you would like to be considered for

Please read the full Adoption Policy -

& then complete the Adoption Form -

This information will be used to match your circumstances against the needs of the dog.

If you have recently completed an Adoption Form, but were unsuccessful in your application to adopt one of our dogs,
and your contact details and
other details are unchanged,
then you can apply for another
of our dogs using this short version of the Adoption Form.

If you are considered a match, a home check will be arranged to
ensure that the dog is suitable for your lifestyle and home circumstances. Here we are looking for things such as a secure garden and commitment from all family members to owning a rescue dog. The home checker will complete a report and forward it to the rescue.

All puppies must attend training classes so you must provide information on training classes in your area.

We may also take up references from a veterinary surgeon.

You will receive a call from the rescue telling you if you have been successful. You may be turned down for one particular dog, but invited to consider a different dog that is better suited to your lifestyle and needs.

All owners are asked to sign an adoption contract; a copy of which can be requested prior to adoption.

We will ask for a minimum donation of £150. No money from the donations goes on administration, fuel or phone bills. Some dogs may come into the rescue not requiring any treatment, but the donation is not for any particular dog, but goes towards some who do require very costly & extensive treatment either before they are well enough to be rehomed or to provide them with the permanant medication they require whilst in long term foster care.

Should you be fortunate enough to adopt one of our special dogs, you will be expected to liaise direct with the foster carer for a collection date/time.  We ask that you take a harness and lead with you to collect the dog.  Please ensure that you have everything in place at home before collection, including bed, food, grooming equipment, etc.
Please note.  Dogs will be delivered to the adopter only under very exceptional circumstances.

Please consider carefully the responsibility of adopting a lost and abandoned dog - the whole family must be 100% committed to wanting a rescue dog. The rewards are tremendous - rescue dogs understand they have been saved, so make loyal and faithful pets.

However you need to remember that they are needy and often disturbed by their past treatment. Please consider whether you have the time, patience and love to give such a dog. Many have been to hell and back and they feel deep sadness when people adopt them then return them within a short time without giving them enough time to settle into their new life.

The dogs we have available for adoption are featured on the Rescue Forum ( see the link on the left ). You will need to Register on the Forum before you will be able to see the pages with the dogs waiting for a new home. Regular updates are provided by the foster carers.  Here you will be able to see the dog’s details and ask specific questions.
It is a very friendly Forum so do join in the discussions about the various dogs.

Please do not  fill in the Adoption Form until you have seen one of our dogs that you would like to adopt. We regret that we are unable to take any action regarding an Adoption Form that does not contain the specific name of the dog, featured on our Rescue Forum, that you are interested in adopting.
